This sounds somewhat stupid, but I've gotten down about student blogging because they won't remember their own darn passwords. I had all of my kids make a blog and at this point I bet less than 1/2 can get into them. I told them to write them down, but it didn't happen. Argh...I hate it when that stuff gets in the way of the benefits.

Right on Dawn! I've talked ad nauseam about blogs having the most powerful impact when they are public. I know there is general fear about this and that is understandable. However, there are ways to Go Public with student work and stay safe.

Thanks for being an advocate for what is best for your students!

I have found the same result with students writing on their class wiki. Bringing this into the classroom has been a boost to so many students. While the site looks a little choppy now, students are sharing their knowledge and are excited to see visitors from other parts of the country. I'm looking at bringing blogging into another unit. Thanks for the link to yours!
