		<description>I agree. Even kids without much think they don&#039;t need school. Of course we do have high achieving students, but even they don&#039;t push their potential like they should. I think there needs to be a national sense of urgency. I has to come from home and school. 

And yet, I wouldn&#039;t want to create generations of nervous, ulcer-ridden worriers. 

I guess I&#039;m just going to try to reach my students with a simple message: 

Your education matters. It is the gift you can give yourselves. There is only so much I can do as your teacher. The real results come from your active engagement in your own learning.</description>

The difficulty that I am currently having that most of my students are very passive - they don&#039;t want to work for anything.  Why not?  Most are given everything they want and are very comfortable with the teacher giving them the answers.

It&#039;s a trend that has been going on for awhile, but currently it&#039;s very acute in my classes right now.
