		<description>You continue to astound me. Your qualities of great literature is everything I&#039;ve always wanted to say about books but never actually said. 

My first unit in Clinton (besides the business letter) is a short story unit - five weeks and only five required short stories. So there is plenty of freedom to choose and do meaningful activities. As an anticipatory activity, I would like to see what 9th graders have to say about reading stories and why we do it. Their list may be different than yours, but hopefully by the time they have left either my room or high school (not sure if my room is too lofty of a goal) they could begin to appreciate and understand the qualities of great literature on your list.</description>
